SUN!

At long last, we had a beautiful SUNNY Saturday here, so we took the opportunity to go hiking at Grouse Mountain today. It was beautiful. We hiked the "Grouse Grind," which is only about 3km, but it's straight up the mountain and pretty grueling. The top was closed for skiing, but there was still a bit of snow up there. They also have a lodge, a lumberjack show, and habitats for grey wolves and orphaned grizzly bears. We saw one of the huge grizzlies through the trees. He looked at us and yawned. Very exciting.

Uh, do I really have to keep going? And no, I was not posing for this one. Thanks Russ.

The panoramic views of Van and the North Shore at the peak were amazing.

They have several ginormous statues of Native American tribes, eagles, and hikers at the top.

You can see snowcapped Cypress Mountain in the background.

We missed getting a pic of the grizzly, so here's the sign instead.

The sun was setting when we were about to head down, so we took the SkyRide down instead. Our legs were thankful.
