Even though we were far away from family this year, we still had a great Thanksgiving this year with friends here. Your close friends become your family overseas. We went to our friends' apartment on Wednesday night and had a full spread, minus the turkey. You can get turkey here, but it's harder to find. But we did have... HAM! Imported all the way from the States by a dear friend. Everything was delicious!
The kids made these out of toilet paper rolls.
After dinner we played "Would You Rather..." On this one, L had to drink water out of a bowl like a dog :)
On Thursday, we stayed home so we could skype with family and friends and ended up having our own Thanksgiving with leftovers!
And yes, Russ did get his made-from-scratch pumpkin pie. (Made from scratch only because you can't get ready-made pie crust, evaporated milk, canned pumpkin, or cool whip here). I used to do it the lazy way, but from scratch really is so much better!
