Over the weekend, we took a few days of vacation to head north to see some of our good friends who'd come to see the big city.
On Friday night, we found a random "Mexican" restaurant and had low expectations, but it turned out to be pretty good. Anything tastes good when you haven't had it for a year!
On Saturday, we grabbed a doner for lunch while sightseeing.

Local fishermen.
On Saturday night, we decided to go to this restaurant that served Iskender. Iskender is a local dish that has bread on the bottom, beef, tomatoes, peppers topped with a butter sauce and yogurt on the side. It's Russ' favorite dish here.
We all sat on cushions on the floor, traditional Central Asian style.
I opted for the gozleme, which is a "pancake" with anything you want in it. I went with the mixed kind with lamb, cheese, potatoes, and veggies. They roll out the fresh handmade dough and make it on this round griddle.
That night we played a group fave...Wizard!
